I'm going to write a reflection on the Introductory Speech. This was a speech all about myself. I included information about my family, my hobbies, my favorite places, and my future. Since this was our first speech in this class, I learned a lot about public speaking. I used to have stage fright so I was never good at speeches, but I learned to use more eye contact and to stop saying "um". If I was to change my approach on this project I would do it sooner and not procrastinate. I was really nervous for the presentation so I pushed it back for as long as I could.
This semester I learned a lot about public speaking. Before this semester I hated speeches because I had stage fright. After taking this class I feel a lot better about public speaking and its not as scary anymore. I learned that you should make eye contact when you are speaking. I also learned to stop saying "um", "uh", and "like" when I'm presenting. I say these words a lot when I'm usually talking so it was hard to do this. When our class was assigned the What A Year Project, I learned about working in a group. Its easier to work in a group because you can help each other and you can split up some of the work. Overall, this class has really improved my public speaking.
